A connection between most of my images is that I like to experiment with color. I am starting to see that my images have a common style of being very emotional. I am also starting to see that my images are all of my friends and people close to me, which tells me I am most comfortable shooting around them. To create an interesting image I look for the perfect place to compliment the story I am trying to tell. It can be a busy background, a quiet background, or blurred to keep the focus on the subject. My mission statement is that I aim to capture real and relatable emotions that we feel everyday.
A common theme in all of my photos is the urban location and aspects in them. I realized that I include the culture of East High School and Colfax Avenue in my photos very often. I am drawn to shooting the bustling world around me and the many unique things about urban Denver.
To create an interesting photo, I look for a colorful and expressive subject along with a suitable backround that captures the environment around the subject. I enjoy changing the tone and hues in my images and I think thoses edits make them unique and more interesting to look at. |
